1. 分数的分子使用基数词，分母使用序数词，并且当分子为基数词复数时，分母的序数词应使用复数形式。例如：1/3 读作 one-third，1/2 读作 one-half，2/5 读作 two-fifths，9/10 读作 nine-tenths。
2. 当分数修饰的名词在句子中作为主语时，谓语动词的单复数形式应与名词保持一致。例如：Only one-fifth of the air consists of oxygen.（只有五分之一的空气含有氧气。）
3. 扩展例句：The centimeter is one-tenth of the decimeter or one-hundredth of the meter.（厘米是分米的十分之一，或者是米的百分之一。）However, the number of the boys will be less than a third of the girls in the class.（然而，班里男生的数量将少于女生的三分之一。）About two-thirds of the students are going to attend the meeting.（大约三分之二的学生将参加这次会议。）
