I Love Guilin

Situated in the northeastern corner of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region is the City of Guilin, my hometown, Its mountains and rivers are known to all with the four noted features of green hills, clear water, fantastic caves and spectacular rocks. With its beautiful scenery and colourful cultural sites, Guilin City is described as a scenic tourist city with famous historical culture.

Nature, the greatest sculptor, has carved many fancy hills in Guilin after millions of years work. Most unique are all those Guilin hills rising sharply from the ground. Some of them have sheer cliffs, others have coloured seams of rock. It is always difficult to find two Guilin hills in the same shape. Elephant Hill is a wonder of Guilin, and a symbol of the Guilin landscape. It looks exactly like a giant elephant standing on the west band and arching its long trunk into the river to draw water ceaselessly. Looking left into the distance, visitors find the Tunnel Hill standing there majestically. Near its summit there is a natural north south tunnel, known as “Moon Cave”, which looks like the full moon hanging in the sky.

All the waters in Guilin are clear and clean, even fish can be seen in the water. They are bright like mirrors reflecting all green hills and tree into them. All the waters seem to sing merrily and dance gracefully. Lijiang is a bright pearl of the Guilin scenery and offers the tourists no end of aesthetic objects.

My hometown, Guilin, is a very beautiful city. I love her!
