Does the Reputation of School Matter?

　　Recently, there is a growing concern among parents in choosing a credible school for their children. Many people feel that it is undoubtedly important for the kids to attend a prestigious school, which they perceive asthe first step towards the future success. While other people argue that the reputation of school does not matter as long as the students themselves arewilling to strive for their goals. In my opinion, whichever the school they attend, the key factor of a fulfilling school life is the unyielding determination from the students.

　　It has been a controversial issue as whether students need to attend a top school or just an ordinary one. Enthusiastic parents are pushing really hard to get their children enrolled in a top-tier school. Intheir eyes, attending a good school is more or less assuring a promising future for the kids. Compare to a normal neighbouring school, a reputable school provides a better learning environment with more reliable teaching resources infacilitating the students’ learning.

　　Well, it is true that prestigious schools and excellent teachers will be beneficial to the students in some ways; however, they are not the ultimate solution to the students’ academic performance. In fact, it isquite unsurprising to see many top scholars come from some inconspicuous schools. Evidently these outstanding students succeed without attending thebest school. Therefore, I firmly think that students are supposed to learn ontheir own will and for their own good, and we need not to have much concern aboutthe reputation of school.
