Writing has always been the most immportant way of output for English learning, which is an important reflection of the English level of the students and also an integrated part for all kinds of exams. A good composition should fufill the following standards: the content should be revelant to the topic; the meaning is fluent; the paragraphs cohere naturally; basically there is no language mistake. Therefore, it's a necessary requirement for writing a good composition to use the conhensive means properly. However, the composition of students who are not majoring in English is always of narrow thoughts, loose structure,lackness of logic and using conjuctions wrongly in the composition which leads to a bad consistency of the composition and affects the quality of the whole composition. The conjuctions in English play importanr roles in cohere and link up the paragraphs as a cohensive mean. Along with application of the computer as well as the emerge of large corpora and searching softwares, the way of corpora is being used more and more widely to the research of language teaching as a new research method.

This paper adopts the method of quatification combined with characterization, aiming at revealing the major types of mistakes made by the students who are not majoring at English. It gives a analysi of quatification and characterization of the mistakes appeared in the sub-corpora St3 , St4 of Chinese learners by using the computer software of Antconc3.2. It will also helps to know the common types of mistakes appeared in the writing of university English writing and offers back-up for the analysis of the reason of making mistakes, also it will come out a new teaching mode of university English writing according to the result.
